Hills & Plains Country Gospel started in 2001. The present members are Jerry Olson, Dave Mettler, Don Boardman and Tina Bullinger. They have played for nursing homes, churches, hospitals, fund raisers and festivals in North Dakota, Minnesota, Manitoba & Saskatchewan. They sponsor the annual International Country Gospel Music Festival at the Peace Garden in August. Jerry has played guitar and sung for over 50 years. He plays lead guitar and is lead singer on some songs. He put his guitar away for about 20 years and picked it up again after he quit drinking and gave his heart to the Lord. Dave Mettler played guitar in a band in high school. Dave now sings and plays bass, acoustic and electric guitar. Don Boardman has been singing since he was about 5. He has been singing with different groups in churches for the last 35 years until he started with the group. He sings harmony and melody. Tina Bullinger started singing with the group in August 2006 and sang with Don in different groups for the last 20 years. She is now playing the bass guitar as well as singing. The purpose of the group is to “praise the Lord and bring people to Him through song and testimony”. |
